What to expect when you build or remodel with cruz built
Building a custom home or taking on a remodel can feel overwhelming. There are a lot of decisions to make, and if you haven’t been through it before, knowing where to start can be a challenge.
At Cruz Built, we walk you through the process one step at a time. From the first conversation to getting started on site, here’s what you can expect when you work with us.
1. Tell us about your project
The first step is filling out the inquiry form on our website. We’ll ask what type of project you’re planning, what your budget is, and when you’re hoping to have it completed.
Once you submit the form, our team will review it and reach out within 24 hours. There’s no commitment at this point. We’re just getting to know you and what you have in mind.
2. Have an initial conversation
Next, someone from our team will give you a call to ask a few follow-up questions.
This helps us get a more detailed understanding of your project and gives you a chance to ask questions, too. We want to understand what you’re trying to accomplish before we move into the details.
3. Meet for a consultation
During the consultation, we meet in person and walk the space with you.
There are so many variables in a construction project. Seeing the property helps us understand the space, the surrounding conditions, and how those things might affect the work.
From there, we can talk through budget ranges and possible approaches. If there’s an option that works for you, we move on to a proposal.
4. Review your proposal
The proposal gives you a clearer picture of the project and what we expect it to cost.
It isn’t the final estimate. There are still details to work through during pre-construction, but it gives us a starting point so you can decide whether you’re comfortable moving forward.
Up to this point, there’s still no commitment required.
5. Sign our pre-construction agreement and make an initial deposit
This is where we ask for a commitment.
Signing our pre-construction agreement and making an initial deposit lets us know you’re ready to move forward with Cruz Built. It also reserves a spot in our construction schedule so we can begin working through the details of your project.
6. Work through pre-construction
Pre-construction is where we start putting all the little pieces together.
We bring our specialty subcontractors on site to help solidify pricing, begin the paperwork needed for permits, and work through your selections. That includes the materials, finishes, and features that will become part of your home.
There’s a lot of decision-making here, but it’s also an exciting part of the process. Your ideas start becoming specific choices, and those choices help us put together the construction agreement.
Once you’re ready to move forward, your initial deposit is applied toward that agreement.
7. Get ready for construction
Once the construction agreement is signed, we begin ordering materials, submit the permitting paperwork, and get ready to start your project.
This is where all the conversations, planning, and selections begin turning into something you can see taking shape.
Whether you’re planning a custom home, remodel, or renovation, our goal is to help you understand what comes next and feel confident moving through the process.
Ready to get started? Fill out the inquiry form on our website. We’d love to hear what you’re planning and see how we can help.
